Utilizing her skills honed while a dancer for the NBA’s Miami Heat, Layla won WWE’s 2006 Diva Search to gain entry into WWE.
After making her first appearance that year at SummerSlam, the English-born beauty took her hot dance steps to ECW, where she wowed the WWE Universe as part of the Extreme Exposé Diva dance troupe.
By 2009, Layla joined forces with Michelle McCool to form Team Lay-Cool. The “Flawless” duo seemed inseparable, even going as far as referring to themselves as the self-professed "co-Women's Champions" when Michelle held the title.
But, it wouldn’t take long for Layla to enjoy her time in the spotlight.
With McCool at her side, Layla pinned Beth Phoenix on the May 14, 2010 edition of SmackDown to become the first ever British Women's Champion in a rare 2-on-1 Handicap Match for the Women’s Title.
Layla made history once again, as she helped Michelle defeat two-time Divas Champion Melina to unify the Divas and Women's Championships in a Lumberjills Match.
But things began to unravel between Layla and Michelle in 2011, culminating with a Loser Leaves WWE Match at Extreme Rules, which saw their friendship end and McCool leave the squared circle. Initially appearing on the SmackDown brand, she was moved to the ECW brand in January 2007, where she formed the Extreme Exposé dance troupe with Kelly Kelly and Brooke Adams. In 2008, she was drafted to the Raw brand, where she began managing William Regal
The following year she returned to the SmackDown brand, where she formed an alliance with Michelle McCool known as Team Lay-Cool. In May 2010, Layla won the WWE Women's Championship for the first time, making her the first British woman to hold the championship. She is also the first Diva Search winner to have won the championship, and the final recognized WWE Women's Champion when the title retired in 2010
